Pelmet Wall hanging – Flowers, Birds and Trees.

Intricately embroidered with bright silks using close herringbone stitch and chainstitch on off white poplin. This fine piece depicts flowers, birds and trees with a border of embroidered sisha mirror work framing the pelmet.Blue trim. Seven pennants (representing mango leaves for good luck) in brick red and turquoise colours with  gold and pastel embroidery with same colour lightly padded  bids. A colourful addition to any room in the house. Saurashtra, Gujurat. Made by the Jain community. Circa 1980s. Excellent condition. A few mirror work pieces missing.
