Long Coloured Pelmet
A beautiful addition to any room in the house and would look good surrounding a chimney breast or running along the top of a wall above a dado rail. Could also be used in a marquee or tent as a colourful exotic decoration for weddings and parties. This piece is stitched in colourful silks using trellis work and close herringbone stitches to form patterns of squares. From the bottom of the banner hang 28 pennants (22 cm / 8 inches long) representing mango leaves for good luck and made from a variety of printed cottons, each one has three cotton tassels. 6 hanging hooks.
The piece is in excellent condition and was made in Gujurat Circa 1970s
