Pelmet Wall hanging – Embroidered wall hanging on Rust
A beautiful addition for a child’s room or elsewhere in the house. Could be displayed on the wall, alcove or bookcase. Exquisitely fine embroidery in open chain stitch in subtle tones of salmon and coral silk with shisha mirror work. Five pennants representing mango leaves for good luck, alternating in dark blue and rus and covered in mirrorst. Edged with blue trim and finished off with coloured fabric tassels. A few shisha mirrors are missing, due to age. Made by the Rabari communities of Gujurat. Circa 1960.
