Vintage Kantha Textile With Trees And Stars

A gorgeous vintage kantha densely embroidered with trees and stars around a large central flower mandala which would augment any wall in the house.  There are birds hidden among the foliage and, unusually, a pair of scissors indicative of the personal nature of this  hand-made piece.  It has been embroidered in soft reds, blue, black and green on an off-white background, and so carefully that it is hard to distinguish the front from the back. Very good condition, with just a few rusty marks coloured stains reflecting its age and use as a treasured household item.  Bengal c1940.
