Vintage Kantha Textile With Bodhi Leaves And Gold Border

Vintage Kantha with fine quilting, decorated with a central mandala surrounded by birds, leaves and trees  The heart shaped leaves are from the Bodhi tree and sacred to  Buddhists and Hindus, as it was under a Bodhi tree that Buddha is said to have attained enlightenment. The kantha is finished with a wide soft gold and green jaquard border. Very good condition with a few stains. Bengal. c1950.
