Vintage Ganesh Wall Hanging – with Peacocks, Rabbits and Squirrels

A traditional vintage Ganesh door hanging, providing an auspicious welcome and the blessings of Ganesh, the elephant-headed God of good fortune and happiness. He is flanked on each side by Lord Krishna, the flute playing Hindu god and protector of cows in addition Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth sitting on  a lotus blossom with brightly coloured peacocks, squirrels, rabbits and deer. There is a flower border with shisha mirror work with a red trim and multi coloured frill on the inner edge. It has 3 cotton hanging loops. Made by the farming (Kanbi) communities of Saurashtra. c1960. Good condition. A little staining due to the age of the piece.
