Vintage Ganesh Toran Door Hanging with Gramophone


Traditional Ganesh door hanging, providing an auspicious welcome and the blessings of Ganesh. Ganesh, the elephant-headed God of good fortune and happiness, is accompanied by Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth who is pictured standing in a lotus blossom. Intricately embroidered with close herringbone stitch depicting gramophones, bicycles, elephants and flowers. This is a charming piece in good condition. It would look good anyhwere in the house or in a child’s room, above a doorway, in an alcove or on a chimney brest. Saurashtra, Gujurat, made by Patel community. Circa 1990s.
