Pelmet Wall hanging – Embroidered wall hanging on Green
A beautiful addition for a child’s room or elsewhere in the house. Could be displayed on the wall, alcove or bookcase. Exquisitely fine embroidery in open chain stitch and Kutchi work in mulit coloured silks with a dense covering of shisha mirror work. Five pennants representing mango leaves for good luck, covered in mirrors and finished off with strands of coloured wool tassels. Edged with red trim. Two hanging loops. Made by the Rabari communities of Gujurat. Circa 1960.
