Embroidered Wall Hanging – Elephants, Parrots and Baskets of Flowers

A beautiful addition to any room as a focal point. Exquisitely fine embroidered wall hanging depicting elephants, parrots and baskets of flowers. In the middle of the hanging, two concentric circles of flowers are edged with multi coloured chilli peppers, symbolising warmth and friendship. Fringe in lavender cotton. Hanging loop on each corner. There are a few discoiourations due to age. Made by the farming (Kanbi) communities of Saurashtra. Circa 1950.
