Suzani is embroiderie from Uzbekistan in Central Asia. In the 19th Century Uzbek women made beautiful embroidered hangings for their household and their daughters’ dowries. A revival of the old traditional art form and techniques has happened in the last 30 years, and now Uzbek woman are making these lovely embroideries which now export across the world. An enormous amount of time and care goes into making each piece.
